• Dr. Alapati Ramakrishna is a distinguished academician, administrator, and researcher,
  currently serving as the Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and
  Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Data Science) at Bonam Venkata Chalamayya
  Engineering College (BVCEC), Odalarevu. With over two decades of teaching, research, and
  leadership experience, he has played a vital role in academic development, institutional
  growth, and innovation-driven education.
• Dr. Ramakrishna holds a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal
  Nehru Technological University, Kakinada. He earned his Bachelor of Technology in
  Mechanical Engineering from Nagarjuna University in 1996 and completed his Master of
  Engineering in Thermal Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee in
  1999. Keeping pace with emerging technologies, he successfully completed the
  AICTE–QIP–PG Certificate Program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from
  Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Una, in 2024.
• He began his academic career at BVCEC in 1999 as a Lecturer and progressed through the
  academic ranks as Assistant Professor (2000), Associate Professor (2006), and Professor
  (2011). His administrative journey includes serving as Head of the Department of
  Mechanical Engineering (2007–2016), during which he played a crucial role in securing NBA
  accreditation twice (2009 & 2013) and contributing significantly to the NAAC accreditation
  process (2013).
• Dr. Ramakrishna has held several key leadership positions at the institutional level. He
  served as Controller of Examinations from 2018 to 2020 and again from 2021 to 2022, ensuring transparent and efficient examination processes. Since 2016, he has been the
  Convener of the Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Skill Development Cell, and since 2022,
  he has been serving as the President of the Institutional Innovation Council (IIC),
  promoting innovation, startups, and research culture among students and faculty.
  His research contributions include an AICTE–MODROBS funded project on the suitability of
  alternative fuels for diesel engines, receiving a grant of ₹11.5 lakhs in 2013. He has
  published 27 research papers in reputed national and international journals and
  conferences. He has also guided 25 M.Tech and 60 B.Tech student projects, mentoring
  students in both research and practical problem-solving.
• Dr. Ramakrishna is an active member of several prestigious professional bodies, including
  ISTE (Life Member), ASME, and IEEE (Senior Member). He has organized and participated in
  numerous Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, seminars, and conferences,
  reflecting his commitment to continuous professional development.
  As the Head of the Department of CSE (Artificial Intelligence & Data Science), Dr.
  Ramakrishna is dedicated to integrating AI, data analytics, and machine learning into core
  engineering education. His vision focuses on fostering industry-relevant skills, research
  excellence, innovation, and ethical use of intelligent technologies, making the department
  future-ready and globally competitive.
